• Account information: Name, email address, and profile picture — public information provided by Google when you sign in with Google & Apple Sign-In. We do not collect or store your Google/Apple password.
• Food analysis data: Food images you upload and the AI-generated analysis results (purine content, dietary recommendations)
• Health & dietary data: Food intake history, dietary preferences, and gout management logs you voluntarily provide
• Usage data: App interactions, features accessed, session duration, and crash reports
• Device information: Device type, operating system and unique device identifiers.
• Payment information: Subscription status and transaction identifiers (processed securely by our payment providers such as Google & Apple store; we do not store payment details)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the GoutSnap AI service
• Analyze food images using AI to deliver purine content results
• Maintain your food history and dietary tracking records
• Process subscription payments and manage your account
• Send important service notifications and updates
• Analyze anonymized usage patterns to enhance user experience
• Comply with legal obligations

3. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the Service and fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy. The specific retention periods are:

• Account information (name, email): Retained for the duration of your account. Deleted immediately upon account deletion.
• Food images: Processed transiently by our AI service and not permanently stored on our servers beyond the analysis session unless you explicitly save the result to your history.
• Food analysis history & dietary logs: Retained while your account is active. Deleted immediately upon account deletion.

When you delete your account, all associated personal data (account info, food history, dietary logs) is deleted immediately and permanently from our systems.

How to delete your account: Open the app, go to Settings → Account Deletion, and follow the on-screen steps. Deletion is instant and cannot be undone. You may also contact us at support@goutsnap.com to request deletion manually.

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel only. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services which may receive limited data necessary to operate:

• Google & Apple Sign-In: Authentication provider — we receive only your public profile (name, email, profile picture) as permitted by Google's and Apple's OAuth scopes
• Supabase: Database and authentication provider
• Google AI (Gemini): AI-powered food image analysis
• RevenueCat: Payment and subscription management

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy governing their data handling practices. We encourage you to review them.

6. Children's Privacy

Our service is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
• Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements)
